Christmas Fun

We spent an evening creating ginger bread houses. However, these are no ordinary gingerbread houses. Instead, it is a gruesome zombie attack on the poor survivors!

Emily and I recently had an exclusive photo shoot done by the one and only Toban Knight. The credit for the following pictures all go to him. Playing in the freshly fallen snow up Green Canyon was a blast. It was bitter cold even though it doesn't look like it!

And, as a side note, for ZAP (Zombie Apocalypse Preparation) we made homemade torches! Here I am trying out one of the torches outside our house.

American and German... food stuffs

There was nothing picture worthy for American food, but we did make some other wonderful delights. There are more German dishes to be had as the week progresses.

German food: frikadellen with spaetzle.

Jewel got pumpkin soup on her face. Silly dog.

Almond Roca. A delicious toffy treat!

Pagan and Mexican

The week before Halloween we made pumpkin soup.. we were going to find more pagan like foods but life is too freaking busy!!  I don't know how much longer we'll be able to keep this up!  I actually didn't like the soup.. but I hate all things squash.

The following week we had Mexican food in honor of the day of the dead.  No pictures, the food was good but not anything too pretty..

Russian Week

This last week we made two Russian Dishes, Zebra Cake and hearty bean soup! Both were delicious the beans weren't quite cooked right so we had to pick them out... that was our fault though :(.

Also, our organization/club we created, ZAP is in full swing with weekly meetings where we watch The Walking Dead, and try and prepare ourselves for the worst scenarios!  Today we(ZAP's founders: Cody, Emily, and Andrew) went shooting and had a trip to Smithfield Implements to pick up a few emergency supplies.

Cody bought me a clown figurine, trying to help me conquer my phobia.

$3 dollars for an oil lamp.. YES PLEASE! and .99¢ emergency blankets? Heck yes.  Piecing together our emergency kit :D

October Catch Up!

It has been a busy month.. No time for two or three fancy dishes each theme!!!
Lamb Chops and Matzah
The first week in October we had a Jewish meal in honor of Yom Kippur.  Even though it is a time of fasting and atonement.  The Matzah tasted like a saltine. Yay home made crackers!!
The second week we celebrated Oktoberfest but failed to take pictures of the food.. only our sweet costumes are preserved for all time.  We also had a "Sea Faring" meal of fish and chips in honor of Columbus day!

And here is a random picture of this Monday's shopping trip to target.. you could call it FHE, we had fun.. Unfortunately my phone didn't save the picture I had taken of Andrew being Thor! D: Sad day.

Play Ground Fun Time! 10/2

We recently were in Elko for, my eldest brother, Brian's wedding.  The following morning while waiting for the time to pass 'til we met our family for brunch, we stopped off at a childhood playground of mine.. the fun that ensued was incredible.
